Cameras Viewing Fremont Peak

Three Fire Cameras are either located at Fremont Peak or the peak is visible in the wide angle view.

  • CalFire Fremont Peak This camera is located among the radio towers. During the day the camera scans around the peak (sometimes pointing to us). If this camera is in clouds the peak is in clouds.
  • Gonzales 2 This camera is on 101 south of the observatory. You can see the peak in the distance at about 350°. Low clouds will obscure the view
  • Henrietta Peak 1 This camera is in the Diablo Range east of the Observatory. You can see the peak in the distance at about 235°. It will display the peak when the peak itself is covered in clouds.

Note:Google Chrome, Firefox and Safari are supported browsers for the ALERTWildfire website. Edge is not supported.

Weather Observations

Weather Forecasting at the Peak

In the past this column linked you to "astronomy" weather forecasts. Unfortunately, we have discovered none of these is satisfactory to our location. Consequently we have developed our own techniques that we describe on our Weather Forecasting document

These techniques are based on a paid subscription to windy.com. Access to these forecasts are available

Note that searches produce a lot of similar sounding apps. Only use this one.
